Prof. Ali Murat Vural (PhD.)
After graduating from Anadolu University Faculty of Communication Sciences, he became Research Assistant at the same university. He completed his first Master's Degree at London College of Communication and second Master's Degree at Loughborough University of Technology in England. He became Doctor in 1996, Assistant Professor in 1997, Associate Professor in 2002, and Professor in 2007.
In addition to his undergraduate and graduate lectures at Istanbul University, he served as Vice Dean, Faculty Board Member, Scientific Research Committee Chairman, Academic Promotion and Appointment Committee Member, ConnectIst: İstanbul University Journal of Communication Sciences Editor and Istanbul University Press Executive Board Chairman.
Vural, who is also a lecturer at the National Defense University Air, Army and Naval War Institutes; has nearly a hundred scientific studies published in the fields of communication and perception management, political communication, media and public opinion, 35 Master's and Doctorate Theses and 11 Research Projects.
Focusing especially on communication and perception management, Vural has produced and participated more than 100 conferences, 900 commentary-analysis articles and 77 television productions in various publications. His works were awarded first by Hürriyet Newspaper in 1987 and Milliyet Newspaper in 1992, and with Appreciation by the Davos World Communication Forum in 2016 and 2018.
Vural has carried out many studies such as; “Local Press in Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia”, “Public Reflections in the Çölaşan’s Archive”, “Perception of Turkey and the World in Business Professionals,” “Women's Representation in the Media”, “Istanbul Airport Naming and Positioning Study”, “Bitcoin Perception in Young Generations”, “Perception of Banking and Banking in Turkey” and “Insurance and Perception of Insurance”.
He is currently a Member of Turkish Exporters Assembly’s Board of Directors of Turkey Promotion Group, Board Member of Turkey Ethics and Reputation Society, Member of Board of Founders and Board of Directors of Better Justice Association, Board Member of the Davos World Communication Forum and a Scientific Board Member of the International Social Science Research Association.
